Our History
Taisho era
Otoo became apprentice of Goshimaya, married Hanako Goshima as officially part of the clan.
Taisho 13（1924）
Otoo had Registration of Trade Name
Devoted his life to develop wajimanuri industry as leader of Wajimanuri Guild.
Showa 39（1964）
Kotaro Goshima succeeded the family business.
Breaking through from old structure, started to develop new department specialized in furniture and interior section.
Expanded its business all over Japan, Sogo, Mitsukoshi, Daimaru, Matsuzakaya(now Daimaru-matsuzakaya), Ginza Wako etc

Kotaro enrolled the Goshimaya legally as official company.

The fine & firm foundation is the best feature of Wajimanuri, makes the injured layer repairable, and let it reborn beautifully.
We call them NAOSHI-MON(repairing in Wajima dialect).
Deep crack(complete separation of wood) may require to make a new replica, but shallow injure until the foundaition is still fixable.
Sturdy for daily use, and has anti germ, acid, therm effect.
Using daily is the best care for Wajimanuri, so have meal with it, and wash, give moisture every day if you could.
The surface would increase the shines and nice texture of your own will be personalized more while you keep using it.
Please avoid microwave, dishwasher, oven, plus fridge.
